I am a 42 year old white female, with Hep C. I am a 1A my viral load started off at 198,000 I am at stage 3 with bridging liver damage.

I beleive I contracted this demon through a blood transfussion when I was 2 months old. I grew up with all the classic symptoms, but at age 40 I had had enough I knew something was just not right, my lack of energy, the constant infections, along with about 20 other problems.

I began doing pegasys and co-pegasys for 48 weeks I thought it would kill me, but….didnt my viral load dropped to 7,500. after 12 weeks and then at week 24 I was told I was cleared. After my 3 month test my viral load went back up to 440,000. I was told I was a relapser by some and a non responder by others….I was mad confused and couldnt imagine going through treatmetn again..I am a single Mom who worked 40-45 hours a week during treatment the first time but wasent sure I could handle what they were suggesting this time. Infergen DAILY shots with ribavarin 1200 mg for 6 months !!

What a ride I have become a human pin cushion, I live with more side effects that I could possible list. I try to work full time but have only been able to put in half days. Thank God my Boss is an understanding person. I have a wonderful support group at home and and work, they help me on a daily basis. I will have my first vl check the 1st of March if my levels have dropped enough then my insurance will agree to pay for another 3 months if not they will pull me off. I am a very determined soul I am going to beat this demon…..
